Who is who at SQLUG.be

Frederik Vandeputte, President
Frederik Vandeputte is a senior consultant and partner at Kohera, the largest Belgian Company fully focused on SQL Server and Microsoft Business Intelligence. Frederik is one of the co-founders and the President of the Belgian SQL Server User Group (SQLUG.BE). In January 2008 Frederik, became the first Belgian MVP on SQL Server. Website | Twitter

 

Nico Verbaenen, Vice President
Nico Verbaenen is Senior Performance Management Architect at Axinco and Microsoft Competence Center Lead at element61. Working with SQL Server for over 12 years Nico has been specializing on the BI side of the Microsoft stack for the last 10 years. This results in an extensive technical knowledge of the Microsoft BI products as well as non-technical skills like user requirement gathering, DWH Design & Project management. One of the newest interest for Nico is all about the cloud, especially from a Business Intelligence point of view.

 

Davy Knuysen, Secretary
Davy Knuysen is a BI Architect and Compentence Leader for Microsoft BI at Ordina Belgium. He is mainly specialized in ETL methodology and Data Warehouse best practices.
Because of his profound knowledge and experience in this area he is mostly active as a BI architect, gathering user requirements, defining standards and monitoring the quality of BI projects.

Karim Ourtani, Core-member & Webmaster

Karim Ourtani currently works as a Data & Application Analyst for the Flemish Government, specifically in the department for Welfare, Public Health and Family.

He has been working with SQL Server Since 1998 (version 6.5). After working in the Banking Sector in London he moved onto various web projects where SQL server was at the basis of his many web analytics and online marketing projects. Since his return to Belgium has been focussing his efforts on the BI capabilities of SQL Server as well as Database Programming. Furthermore he has a extensive knowledge of VB.Net and C#.

Steve Verschaeve, Core-member & Webmaster

Steve Verschaeve is a senior consultant at Kohera, Cronos Group and has been working with SQL Server since 2003. He holds an MCP, MCTS and MCITP certificate in SQL Server and SharePoint. In his day job he currently works on a major ETL project. If he's not working you will find him messing around with SharePoint 2010. His blog can be found here.

 

Valentino Vranken, Core-member
Valentino Vranken is a Senior SQL Server Consultant at Ordina. When he started his career over ten years ago he was developing applications using C++ and SQL Server 7.0. Over the years he gathered experience using various programming languages to manipulate data in SQL Server databases. Nowadays his focus is more on Business Intelligence implementations, still using SQL Server. Valentino is a MCP with one MCITP and three MCTS certifications on SQL Server 2008. In his spare time he helps the community by sharing information on his blog and through forums. More details about him can be found on his About page.

 

Bart Bultinck, Core-member
Bart Bultinck is a Senior Architeer (architect & engineer). He evolved from formal system engineering towards
product specialist infrastructure services in the field of collaboration. Skills are MS Exchange,Office Communications Server, MS sharepoint Portal server,
MS ISA server and recently MS SQL Server....

Marc Mertens, Core-member
Marc Mertens is a SQL server and dot.net trainer/consultant voor Global Knowledge. He has been working with Sql Server from version 4.x up to version 2008R2.
His Microsoft certifications are MCSA, MCSE, MCDBA, MCAD, MCSD and of course MCT. He worked with the relational part as well as the BI part of SQL Server.

 

Peter De Seranno, Founder
For the last 10 years, Peter has been and still is as SQL Server DBA, mainly focussing on IT-pro side but still has a strong affinity for development related aspects (he has more than 5 years experieince i nthe development side of things).
As DBA he has experience on Sql Server 6.5, 7.0, 2000, 2005 and 2008. Peter is now working for De Post and as a consultant for conSuRAN.
