Analysis Services tools for generating documentation and checking best practises

The first tool, Analysis Services Documenter, generates HTML documentation out of a Live Analysis Services database: you just point to your database, select a few options (level of detail, interactivity), hit the button and the HTML is generated. The documentation does not only contain the name and description of all your dimensions, attributes, hierarchies, levels, cubes, measure groups, meausres, translations,..., it also contains other information such as creation data, last process date, ...

The second tool, Analysis Services Best Practise Analyser, checks your live cubes and dimensions against some best practises. Currently, it checks against 3 best practises: create aggregations for each partition, use attribute relationships, and use the non-empty behavior property on calculated members. Extra checks are in the pipeline and will be added soon.

Currently, these tools are freely available from http://www.u2u.be/res/SQL05_BI.aspx#Tools
